2009 So Far

Hi Everyone,

I haven't written in a while so I thought I would just say what a pleasure it has been joining you for book club each month. I just think you are all gems and I am looking forward to this year, not only because our book list looks fantastic, but because I really like getting together with you all and having some R&R.

I hope you are enjoying Memoirs of a Geisha. I finished it last Saturday and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to getting together at Renee's for the movie on February 8.

Hope you are all doing great! Let us know how you are enjoying the book.

Have a great day!
Brenda

Girls Night In Reading List

Hi Everyone,

I was so glad to see you all last night. Thanks for coming and a special thanks to Pam for making the cupcakes -- they were delicious!!!

I have prepared the reading list for the rest of the year and it is attached to this email. I have also listed the date to begin reading each book, the date it will be discussed, and the leader for the discussion (just for your convenience). Please contact me with any questions or needed changes.

I am so excited about this reading list. I read the synopsis of each book while making the list and I think they all sound great. I cannot wait to read them. Thanks for all the terrific suggestions.

Have a great week!

Brenda

July Meeting Date Changed

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying MANSFIELD PARK!

Since our July Girls Night In meeting falls on July 4th weekend, and I know many of you will still be out of town on July 6th, we will move the meeting to July 13. I really don't want to postpone it for longer than a week because that will already shorten our next reading period to only 3 weeks and I want everyone to have time to finish the next book prior to the August 3rd meeting.

I would appreciate it if you would reply to this post to let me know if you will be able to attend on July 13.

Also, if you finish MANSFIELD PARK and want to start on our next reading prior to July 13, the next book (for August 3 meeting) will be EMMA.

One more thing, Pam leaves on July 3 for the Starfish Kenya mission trip and will not be at the July 13 meeting. PLEASE keep her and all the mission team members in your prayers.

Thank you everyone. Have a wonderful day!

June 1 Meeting Recap

Thank you everyone for coming on June 1. We hope you liked "Sense and Sensibility" (especially Hugh Grant - haha). We had a great turnout: Pam, Linda, Susan, Jill, Caitlin, Carol, Joyce, Kristen and me.

A special thank you to Susan for bringing the sandwiches to share.

Welcome, Joyce! We are so happy you were able to attend your first meeting and we hope to see you every month.

Renee, congrats on your new home! We missed you but will see you again next month.

TO ALL OF YOU: Pam, Linda, Susan, Jill, Caitlin, Carol, Renee and Joyce, we can't tell you how happy we are that you have begun this adventure with us and hope we will be able to get together and enjoy our Girls Night In for a long time to come.

God Bless You All.

Thanks for coming!

I wanted to thank you all for coming to last night's book and film club. Our group included Susan, Carol, Linda, Kristen, Caitlin, Jill and me. For those of you who could not make it, we missed you.

Pam, everyone said to tell you HI!
I told them that you landed in London, the town where Jane Austen was buried...they teased that you are taking the book club way too seriously by going all that way (ha ha).
Renee, we are praying for a speedy recovery for both you and Haley!

We watched Pride and Prejudice, which was a very good movie with a HANDSOME leading man.

We assigned our new book, Sense and Sensibility.

Our next meeting will be held on Sunday, June 1.

Hope you will enjoy S&S. Looking forward to hearing from all of you.
